About Green Valley...
Located in Republic, MO, Green Valley is owned and operated by Samantha Carter. We are a full-care boarding facility that also offers lessons, training, and events! This beautiful farm is a family-fun oriented facility where all horses and people are welcome!
In addition to excellent care for our equine friends, we enjoy supporting and teaching multiple disciplines and riding styles. Green Valley is proud to host clinics, shows, events, and more! We offer two arenas, a round pen, dry-lots, a large barn with 20 stalls, wash area, tack rooms, and more. Haul-in rides are open to the public any time during regular barn hours.
We host competitions and barn events year round. Holiday parties and group rides are a great way to get out and enjoy your horse while bonding with other boarders.
Transportation to local shows and events can be provided on a limited basis. Samantha regularly takes lesson students to competitions to further their experience.

Samantha Carter
Samantha started out riding hunter/jumper at show barns in both Lexington, KY and Covington, LA. She has a solid foundation in both dressage and equitation. Samantha competed in AHJA and USHJA rated shows for 7 years competing up to 3'9" Jumper.
In college, she taught kids' summer riding camps in both English and Western disciplines.
She began competing in western events here in Missouri. She has competed successfully in obstacle events, ranch horse shows, trail versatility, speed events such as barrels and poles, and some cattle work.
Samantha has trained in various training methods, developing her own style and believes each horse needs their own approach. Safety is key when working around horses and Samantha encourages others to always improve their horsemanship by learning new styles and methods.
Samantha is an Equine Trail Sports (ETS) Judge and has judged other obstacle events also. She has won numerous State and National Country Trough Trail Versatility (CT2V) titles both undersaddle and in-hand.
What's in a name? You may wonder how we came about naming our facility "Green Valley". While we do have some low-lying property, the facility is mostly on a hill. Doesn't make sense at first, does it? Well, here's how it happened...
Samantha was a pre-teen right around the turn of the century. In the very early 2000's, "SIM" horse games were popular online. These were the early days, no actual game play, just web pages with pictures of horses (borrowed) and the fancy ones were photoshopped or used Microsoft Paint to edit and personalize. All of the "action" happened through email and forms. If you wanted to sell or buy a horse, you submitted an email form and waited for someone to update a website. Boring, right? But, Samantha was captivated (despite having a real horse of her own) - this was even before instant messaging so there wasn't much to do online for young teens. She also had some horse friends who played the games. The most popular was Horseland.com.
Samantha even got in to creating her own HTML based webpages through the free service: Angelfire. Long story short, green is her favorite color so her barns were always named "Green Valley Stables".
20 or so years later, when Samantha was close to closing on her dream property, trying to come up with names for the new boarding facility, well.... only one name came to mind. Dreams really do come true!
Want more time with a horse but not ready to buy? A lease may be the right choice.
A lease is where you are given permission to use/ride/spend time with a horse but are not the legal owner. An on-site lease is where you lease the horse from where it is currently located. An off-site lease is where you can bring the horse to your place of choice (here) from another barn/home. Off-site leases are much less common and typically only offered on very expensive horses (but you never know). Either should include a contract to specifically list out what is included and what is not. This protects both parties so that you know what you will and can be charged for and what you are not responsible for.
We do occasionally offer a half-lease on our lesson horses. It is very subject to availability and is month-to-month only. For a half-lease, you have access to the horse on designated days (typically your lesson day(s)). If you are half-leasing a horse, you pay for lessons as if you own the horse (lower rates).
